Michigan needs rational economic policy for job growth

LANSING, Mich. - Despite the recession, manufacturing remains Michigan's largest sector, accounting for nearly 20 percent of the gross state product and employing nearly 500,000 people. Yet it also remains one of the highest taxed industries, and some lawmakers are proposing increasing those taxes further.

Michigan Manufacturers Association Vice President Mike Johnston is speaking out against those proposals.
